Katharine McNamara, MHS

Science Writer, Focus Group Facilitator, and Qualitative Researcher

I have a passion for connecting the seemingly unconnected and making sense of the unexpected connections in social, biological, and environmental health.

ABOUT ME

I have been involved in collaborative and independent global health and development research projects throughout the Global South, United States, and Europe for almost a decade. As an interdisciplinary social scientist, I bring qualitative and mixed-methods research design and analysis expertise to the BSC team. My academic formation spans the fields of Public Health, Anthropology, and Gender Studies and uniquely positions me to critically engage with scientific data through various methodological and theoretical approaches.

I employ my facilitation skills in multiple languages to conduct effective research activities—interviews and focus group discussions—and moderate organizational meetings that help institutions meet their goals.
