Yonette Thomas, PhD is the Founder and CEO of UrbanHealth360 and the Founder and Chief Strategist of Strategic Transitions LLC. She founded Strategic Transitions LLC to help academics and professionals make successful leadership transitions. She is a senior scholar at the University of Memphis School of Public Health. She was a founding board member and inaugural executive director of the International Society for Urban Health, science advisor for urban health to the New York Academy of Medicine, vice president for research compliance at Howard University, and the chief of Epidemiology at the National Institute on Drug Abuse, National Institutes of Health. She held academic positions in the Department of Public Health, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioural Sciences and the School of Pharmacy at Howard University. She is a member of the boards of US-based Women’s Economic Imperative (WEI), Kenya-based LVCT Health, and Cameroon-based Evidence for Sustainable Human Development Systems (EVIHDAF). Her scholarly publications range in focus from the social epidemiology of drug abuse to urbanization and health and the intersection of environment, social context, and health dynamics.
